The Jerusalem Institute of Contemporary Music (JICM) was founded in 1988 to bring the music of our time to a wider audience, through performance, research and education. Now in its twenty-fifth year, the Institute has enriched the cultural life of Jerusalem, while creating cutting-edge artists.

Founder and Director: Dr. Stephen Horenstein.  Established and supported through a generous grant from the Jerusalem Foundation.

The Institute’s newest project is the Siday Fellowship for Musical Creativity, established by the Eric and Edith Siday Charitable Foundation.  The Fellowship seeks to recognize and support gifted Israeli composers and performers who have demonstrated an interest, awareness and desire to create/perform the music of our time.  Candidates should demonstrate a spirit of experimentation and willingness to take risks in their creative work.
